From the Toyest '92 Booklet:

Volunteer of the Year

Deanna Korth

When called upon in 1986 to help with a new event in East Aurora, Deanna Korth probably had no idea of the extent of commitment she would make nor her impact on ToyFest and East Aurora.

Her initial role was on the Steering Committee, and her responsibilities were considerable. She was asked to coordinate and oversee the parade, park entertainment, street performers and dance. Working with volunteers responsible for each event, Deanna's area involved numerous and immeasurable details required to successfully stage those very visible events.

Her skills and ToyFest experience developed in her position on the steering committee made her a natural candidate to be tapped for the chairmanship of the event in 1990 and 1991. Under her leadership ToyFest continued to become more professional in its organization and to grow as an event.

It was natural for Deanna to move into the year-round function of the Toy Town Foundation, the Toy Museum. She remains at the heart and soul of ToyFest through her leadership and support as business administrator at the Toy Museum. With her lowkey, quiet manner, her organizational ability inspires those around her.

Her creativity is evident in museum window displays, and her ability to inspire volunteer staff members continues to provide the museum with an important asset.

Thank you, Deanna, for your tireless efforts which enhance the magic of ToyFest.
