A Celebration of Toys - Schedule of Activities
|
|
Once again, it's that time of year for the
Fisher
-
Price
Collector's Club
to get together! The dates are the
weekend of August 22-24, 2008. But there are some big changes this year.
We are sad to report that the Toy Town Museum and East Aurora will no longer be
having Toyfest. So no parade, no rides, no festival, though (we think)
the antique car show is still being held on Sunday. To read

But the club
will still be getting together, having our annual dinner, and even the sale, too!
With no Toyfest, what will take place instead is an antique toy sale at the Toy Town Museum,
on Saturday and Sunday, with many of our usual vendors. This new event is part of
what the Toy Town Museum calls
"A Celebration of Toys". With the 2-day sale planned,
the club will not be holding the "swap" sale this year.
As in prior years, we will be holding our annual dinner as planned on
Saturday night. See below for all the times of the events!

1:00 to Museum Closing:
Members Reception at the
Toy Town Museum. All members welcomed!

| Saturday August 23, 2008 |
|
10:00 am - 4:00 pm:
Antique Toy Show and Sale at the Toy Town Museum,
East Aurora.
Sale very much open to the public! The club will be holding silent auctions
of boxes of Fisher Price toys generously donated by a member. We will
use these items as a fund raiser for our charitable efforts. (Auction subject
to change)

4:00 pm: Fisher-Price Collectors Club Board Meeting at the Toy Town Museum.

6:00 pm:
Annual Dinner
at the Village Kitchen Cafe, East Aurora, along with
a speaker and presentation about Fisher Price Toys! Dinner usually lasts
until 9:30ish to 10:00.
(Dinner is for club members & their guests; to attend the dinner, reservations are required.
Members should be receiving your invitation in the mail.)
